Invest in Two Different Scrubbers

You need to make sure that you have the right supplies before you start washing your windows. You should invest in two different scrubbers for washing your windows. One should be for dedicated indoor use and one for dedicated outdoor use.

Using a different scrubber from the inside and outside of your windows will help ensure that you don't carry pollutants from the outside into your home. This is especially important if anyone in your home has allergies.

Use the Right Soap

To clean your windows, you don't need some fancy spray cleaner. All you need is kitchen dish soap. The best kitchen dish soap to use is biodegradable dish soap, although any dish soap will do.

The properties of kitchen dish soap will ensure that the dirt and grease are lifted from your windows. The degreasing properties will help ensure that your squeegee glides smoothly across your windows.

If you don't want to use dish soap, you can also use vinegar. Vinegar is great at cutting grease as well and will not leave streaks on your glass. Cut the vinegar down; a mixture of half vinegar/half water works best.

Keep the Blade on Your Squeegee Fresh

A squeegee that is about a foot long is perfectly sized for cleaning and removing the water from your windows. When you purchase your squeegee, make sure to purchase some spare rubber blades.

After you wash all of the windows in your home inside and out, change out the rubber blade. Using a fresh rubber blade the next time you clean your windows will help ensure that your windows don't have streaks on them when you are done.

Have Detailing Tools On Hand

Make sure that you have some tools for detailing on hand. For detailing, you are going to want to carry at least two rags with you. Use one rag for detailing and cleaning the edges of the glass where they meet with the window frame. Use the other rag to clean out the window sills and other parts of the window that can dirty over time and need cleaning, as well. While you're cleaning your windows, it is also a good time to check the state of other house details, such as guttering.
